Thailand’s economy is forecast to expand over the next two years, with major public spending underway as part of the implementation of the country’s transport infrastructure master plan, which will run until 2022. As one of Thailand’s top 10 brokerages and securities businesses, Kasikorn Securities faces favourable winds. The successful roll-out of US$51 billion projects this year could boost business confidence and equity investments in infrastructure – heightening anticipation in the private sector and among potential investors.

“Thailand will benefit a lot from the growing economies of the Asean Economic Community,” says Thiti Tantikulanan, executive chairman. “We see a lot of business growth from Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. As a developed Southeast Asian tiger, Thailand will be a central business hub. There’s a lot of growth potential here.”

Specialising in investment banking, securities brokerage and financial advisory services, Kasikorn Securities is a fully owned subsidiary of the Kasikorn Bank Group – one of Thailand’s leading financial service conglomerates. This integrated relationship gives Kasikorn Securities an edge as a total solutions provider with superior research insights, drawing upon its parent bank’s established reputation and wealth of financial information.

“The quality of research in this industry is compromised because of intense pricing competitions,” Thiti says. “We don’t compete on price – we invest in quality in-depth research and technologies. Instead of cutting costs, we actually invest our profit.”

Kasikorn Securities’ research papers are meticulously prepared by highly regarded analysts who are specialists in each industry. The company has been continually improving the quality of its in-depth research papers – increasing the quantity of its research to cover more than 150 stocks across all industries.

“If a potential investor is looking for a knowledgeable financial institution with quality research, we fit the description quite well,” Thiti says. “That’s where we invest, and where we don’t skim.”
