Artinian celebrates 20 years of fine jewellery
The maison has been crafting masterpieces using exceptional diamonds and rare gemstones for two decades and aims to expand its footprint in Far East Asia

With hallmark creations defined by their creative flair and opulent grace, a rising fine jewellery house based in Bangkok is playing a pivotal role in the ascension of Thailand as a hub in the world of high-end jewellery. Founded by Armenian brothers Arto and Saro Artinian in 1997, the House of Artinian celebrates almost two decades of crafting masterpieces using exceptional diamonds and rare gemstones including emeralds, rubies and sapphires. Artinian’s roots, however, go back much further to the 1950s when the first generation of Artinian brothers opened their own workshop in the historic jewellery district of Damascus.
Named one of the best luxury jewellery brands for Asia at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2015, Artinian is building a solid imprint in the industry – one anchored in its deep respect for traditional skills and fine craftsmanship, combined with a keenness for innovative elements to achieve a higher level of refinement and sophistication in jewellery making.
“Apart from our high-quality workmanship, we are known for our innovations and the speed that we can deliver these to the market,” says Arto Artinian, the jeweller’s president and CEO. “Being a family-owned business, we have a lean organisational structure that allows us to make quick strategic decisions and easily adapt to market changes.”
Fusing the value of classical jewellery arts and modern tools, Artinian tailors innovative jewellery creations and private label collections for high-profile retailers and prestigious companies. As a specialised jewellery design and manufacturing company, Artinian provides end-to-end original design manufacturing (ODM) services, from concept design, prototyping, jewellery manufacturing to packaging and merchandising.
Under the guidance of Saro Artinian as creative director, Artinian has formed a cohesive and highly skilled 350-man creative team, consisting of designers, mould makers, jewellers, diamond setters, gem specialists and diamond professionals, that is able to bring to fruition clients’ design aspirations.

In 2014, Artinian opened a state-of-the-art creative studio and high-end jewellery atelier in Bangkok to accommodate tailor-made commissions. The jeweller provides its more bespoke service to a growing base of discerning clients that include royal families in the Gulf states and ultra-high-net-worth individuals in Europe, Russia, North America and Asia.
In addition to its ODM and personalised services, Artinian has developed its signature fine jewellery brands: Sartoro and MARLI. Showcased at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show held last March, the new Sartoro collections are more contemporary in design with refined details and feminine silhouettes intended for everyday wear.
In June, Artinian opened Maison Artinian, a luxury boutique at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok to showcase Sartoro and its other high-end jewellery creations.
The MARLI brand, which was launched in 2014 by another sibling – Maral Artinian, is based in New York. It draws inspiration from the city’s pop culture, urban life and fashion, and comprises wearable, minimalistic pieces mostly crafted from diamonds.
As more consumers become more comfortable with buying fine jewellery online, Artinian sees massive opportunities in e-commerce. It plans to create a stronger digital presence and is open to partner with e-tailers with trusted online platforms that can handle high-end consignment jewellery. Artinian also intends to expand its footprint in Far East Asia.
“Having the right partners is the way to go forward in growing our client base,” Arto Artinian says. “We are looking for partners who can complement our strengths in jewellery design and manufacturing with an established distribution network, whether traditional brick-and-mortar stores, or online platforms, or both. They also need to share our vision in terms of innovation and high standards for client service.”
