Five years after the release of his well-received photo book ’89 Tiananmen, veteran documentary photographer Kan Tai Wong is preparing to launch his latest book, which documents his travels around Tibet during the past two decades.

In Vajrayana ,Wong captures the lives of people on the Tibetan plateau, from the hardscrabble existences of farmers, to monks maintaining their ancient ways and to people enjoying the simple pleasures of nature, all in striking silver gelatin black and white prints.

Wong, who now lives in Japan, will also be hosting a talk entitled “From Tiananmen Square to the Himalayas” during the launch event at Comix Home Base in Wan Chai on June 10.
