Martin Garrix headlines Hong Kong’s first-ever Road To Ultra EDM festival
The 20-year-old shares top billing with Australian duo Knife Party and British trio Nero this September at West Kowloon, part of the festival’s global expansion that includes stops in Taiwan and the Philippines
Electronic dance music (EDM) superstars Martin Garrix, Knife Party and Nero will headline the first Hong Kong edition of Road To Ultra, one of the world’s biggest EDM festivals, at West Kowloon on September 17.
Dutch DJ/producer Garrix may only be 20 years old, but he’s already one of the biggest names in EDM, notching up several No 1 tracks on dance music portal Beatport as well as being named best electronic act at the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Running from midday to 10pm at the future cultural district’s nursery park, Road to Ultra will also feature as supporting acts Carnage (US), Galantis (Sweden), Jauz (US), Marshmello (US) and Thomas Jack (Australia).
Ultra was founded in Miami, Florida, in 1999 and has since rode the global wave of interest in the EDM genre to spread worldwide.
Early-bird tickets for the Hong Kong event are already sold out, but HK$900 advance tickets and HK$1,980 VIP tickets remain on sale. General admission at the door will cost HK$1,480.
