Christian Louboutin basks in the glow of adoring Hong Kong devotees
The beloved French shoe maestro Christian Louboutin has been in town meeting his followers at his store in Wyndham Street, Central.
Many cancelled their Halloween party plans so they could get their trademark red-soled Louboutin stilettos autographed by the designer. The shop was packed with about 200 fans.
When asked what he enjoyed most about meeting his devotees, Louboutin said it was "hearing their stories. It's always interesting to connect with customers through their love of shoes".
A cocktail party was followed by a private Mexican-themed dinner - complete with a custom-made piñata - at the nearby Socialito restaurant, with VIP guests such as businessman Gilbert Yeung Kei-lung, fashion designer Barney Cheng and socialites Stephen and Deborah Hung in attendance.
Soon fans will be able to wear Louboutin not just on their feet, as the designer will unveil a make-up range by the end of next year. "Really, I feel it was a natural transition," Louboutin said.
