The Hong Kong edition of fashion and lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan hosted a gala in the ballroom of Central's Four Seasons hotel for the 12th edition of its Best of the Best Beauty Awards and to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Publisher SCMP Hearst donated HK$200,000 to the foundation at Thursday's event, attended by A-listers such as TVB actors Bernice Liu Bik-yee and Joe Ma Tak-chung, and socialites Tisha Law, Sharon Cheung Po-wah and Elaine Lee.
The foundation, which was established in 1989, focuses on helping children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Working mum, Canto-pop singer and actress Miriam Yeung Chin-wah was named Fun Fearless Female, while model Lynn Xiong Dailin won My Favourite Beauty Spokesperson in an online survey.
Xiong, wearing a purple body-hugging lace Ermanno Scervino dress, said she was happy to win the award. She was probably also happy that her long-time rumoured boyfriend, Aaron Kwok Fu-shing, is being recognised for his acting in the new police thriller Cold War.
The beauty said she had seen the movie with her mother, who joked that it was so good it should fetch a small fortune at the box office.
