There are perks to being a celebrity spouse even if the paparazzi can be a nuisance.
Mexican businessman Marc Rodriguez borrowed his singer wife Jolie Chan Yuen-kei's star power on Tuesday at the launch of Authentic Tequila Alacran, which he distributes in Hong Kong. Many of Chan's celebrity friends turned up at the event to show their support.
The launch, held at Mexican bar and restaurant Socialito in Central, was attended by Mexican Consul General Alicia Buenrostro Massieu, model Jacqueline Ch'ng, former singer-actress Rosanne Wong Yuen-kwan and socialite Kennis Tai.
"I am thrilled to introduce the tequila to Hong Kong with my friends," Rodriguez said. "I hope everyone can feel the friendship behind the label."
Guests unleashed their creativity by decorating their bottles, and also concocted their own tequila cocktails with the help of professional mixologists.
"Each cocktail is mixed with no more than five ingredients. The simplicity … just keeps you wanting more," Ch'ng said.
