Forty years after his death, two of Bruce Lee's siblings reminisce about their famous brother's life and a legacy that is inspiring a whole new generation of fighters. Jo Baker reports.
Guests at the launch of Swiss skincare brand La Prairie's new White Caviar Illuminating line in the ballroom of the Conrad hotel certainly had a memorable lunch. They sat through almost an hour of speeches and entertainment before the starter even arrived.
Dr Daniel Stangl, the brand's head of innovation, introduced its latest technology to defeat colour pigmentation and brighten the skin tone with a line of products featuring white caviar extract.
To highlight the whitening effects, the venue was transformed into a winter wonderland featuring sparkling lighting and a logo-emblazoned ice sculpture. Dancers in white tutus provided the entertainment.
Celebrity models including Jocelyn Luko trotted down the runway in white evening gowns created by local fashion designer Ranee Kok.
Singer-actress Niki Chow Lai-kei wore a white floor-length Lanvin gown. She said she had been trying the new products for months, even though they will not go on sale to the public until spring.
"Artists have to wear make-up all the time, so we have to be careful to take care of our skin," she said. "I am most concerned about whitening because bright and glowing skin gives me confidence even without make-up."
The bevy of socialites at the event included Lynn Hsieh Ling-ling, Charlotte Chen and Harriet Tung.
