Christmas is a time for families, and that includes the family pet. This year, photo studio Venture Photography is working with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to raise funds at The Peak Galleria's Green Terrace.

From Thursday until January 3, donate HK$400 to the SPCA at its booth on The Peak and you can have family photos taken with your furry friends. All proceeds will help fund the SPCA's educational and promotional programmes.

SPCA president Gigi Fu Ming-hin and her socialite friend, long-time charity patron Sharon Kwok Sau-wan, had photos taken with their pets to promote the cause. As usual, Fu will be holding a house party for her friends and their dogs this Christmas.

"Usually I spend Christmas at home with my dogs.

"In 2008, I flew them with me to Los Angeles to celebrate with my family. I have some really sweet memories," she said.

Kwok had photos taken with five animals, including her cat and a chameleon. "It's really hard to get a perfect picture with animals. I'm glad we pulled it off smoothly," Kwok said. "I don't think my home would be complete without the company of animals.

"I'll be preparing Christmas dinner for my pets but they can't eat too much or else they'll get sick."
