Swarovski book makes art of wearing jewellery crystal clear

Nathalie Colin, Swarovski's creative director, has produced the crystal maker's first book on the art of self-expression through jewellery.

"The idea came to me after being constantly asked the same question by the press: 'how do you wear jewellery?' They wanted to know how to style jewellery or what to wear at a certain event. So we did this book for the press, our customers and those who love jewellery," Colin said.

The book offers many styling tips, but at the end of the day, it's about choosing accessories that make you feel comfortable, she said. "The role of jewellery is really to help women express their personality. Depending on how you wear and mix jewellery, you can really express different styles and different facets of your personality. And thus, the title of the book, ."

Swarovski is also holding an exhibition, "Style Yourself with Jewelry", which runs until Sunday in Causeway Bay's Hysan Place. Canto-pop star Joey Yung Cho-yee attended on Tuesday. Perhaps forgetting she was wearing Swarovski crystals, when asked about her favourite jewellery, Yung said diamonds.

Francis Belin, a senior vice-president of Swarovski Greater China, presented Yung with a cartoon portrait decorated with a crystal necklace.

Until January 31, you can upload a photo showing your unique way of styling Swarovski jewellery on Instagram with the hashtag #Swarovskihk for a chance to win a copy of the book and other prizes.
