Hang Tang met Olivia Chung on her first day in the office. It was a turning point in her career and also her romantic life.

Seven years later, Olivia, 26, an office worker, and Hang, 29, an IT executive, got married on December 12 - the auspicious 12-12-12 - at The Peak Galleria.

In September, they will host a banquet at a Chinese restaurant in Tsuen Wan to celebrate their marriage with about 300 friends and relatives.

"The first time I saw him, I thought he was really tall and handsome," Olivia said.

On her first day at work, Hang welcomed her warmly. He took her for breakfast while they waited for their manager to arrive at the office.

At the time, Olivia was in a difficult relationship with her boyfriend of four years. Meeting Hang made her wonder if he might have a place in her life.

"But I was afraid to dream because love seemed so difficult for me," she said.

"I didn't think too much at first," Hang said. "But as soon as we started talking, we clicked. She just really understands me."

It wasn't that love was out of Olivia's reach; she was just with the wrong person. Hang didn't want to rush into anything though, because she was still dating another man.

Over the following weeks, Olivia frequently asked Hang for relationship advice and he was always there for her to lean on.

Then, a month into her job, she broke up with her boyfriend. After that, neither Hang nor Olivia could hold back their feelings for each other.

"It was amazing how we became an item from being basically strangers," Olivia said.

"We were both really serious about the relationship, so it wasn't long before I knew we were meant for each other."

On the day the couple celebrated being together for 6½ years, Hang took Olivia for a candle-lit dinner. After the meal, he asked her to marry him.

"We had a walk after dinner, and when I popped the question, she was crying and laughing at the same time before she said yes," Hang said.

"I think what attracted me to Hang the most was that he worked hard to make my dreams come true and he has always lived up to his promises," said Olivia.

And Hang's determination to make Olivia happy was worth all the effort because, he says, whenever she is around, he feels at home.

"I'm really happy and comfortable being with her," he said. "I can really be myself around her and she's a great listener, too."

Given the type of person she is, as shown by how she treated her ex, he should take his time. But then nothing is sure given her history.

Sounds like someone made an excuse to "jump stable" after seeing a better stud. In some culture that is referred to as a XXXXX.
