New York accessories designer Nancy Gonzalez opened her first standalone store in the city on Wednesday. Located in Central's IFC Mall, the store features her latest designs including handbags and accessories crafted in crocodile and ostrich skin.

Dedicated to empowering women in her native Cali, Colombia, Gonzalez continues her good deeds in Hong Kong, which marks her third Asian store following two in Seoul. During cocktails, she presented a HK$500,000 donation to "Glamour to Give Charity", a family support charity established by Cathy Tsui Chi-kei and her Henderson Land Development heir and husband Martin Lee Ka-shing.

Tsui has been engaged in charitable work since marrying in 2006, and the mother of three said she teaches her children to do the same. She has been donating most of her children's red packet money received during previous Lunar New Year's. But she plans to give her eldest daughter, five-year-old Leanna, who wants an iPad, money to save on her own so she can start to build a better concept of money.

Also present was singer Jade Kwan Sum-yin, who recently announced she will focus on family rather than music. The news is a loss to her fans, but not for her husband, as the couple will soon welcome a new family member, she said.
