Greek brand Fresh Line's home-made cosmetics launched in Asia

One of Fresh Line CEO Natalie Vagioni's favourite childhood pastimes was making cosmetics in the kitchen with her mother.

Born into a family of soap makers, Vagioni's mother, Mayra, still makes soap and facial masks using fresh ingredients to give to friends.

"It's lovely for us to make things together. We are usually talkative, but in the kitchen we shut up. I've learnt from my mother. She has a love of different ingredients - she feels and senses them," said Vagioni last Friday at the brand's Asian launch. The products are now available at five outlets here.

"I knew from a young age to use vinegar on the hair for a shine and how to make a scrub using sugar," she said.

Her mother opened her first shop in Athens in 1992, and Vagioni joined the company as a salesgirl while she was at school. After graduating from the University of London in 2001, she worked in various departments before becoming CEO in 2009.

The brand's signature product is facial masks, she said, as she used to make them with her mother and grandmother in the kitchen. They are made with ingredients such as juices, honey, milk and olive grains.

"Our products are fresh and made with traditional home recipes based on ancient Greek botanotherapy and aromatherapy," said Vagioni.
