Rubber Duck

Rubber Duck is an installation created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman built to resemble the yellow bath toy. The 16.5-metre giant Rubber Duck arrived in Hong Kong on May 2, 2013, having visited 12 cities, including Sydney, Osaka and Auckland.

More trouble at the docks? Everyone sailing past Tsing Yi was in for a big surprise yesterday - but one certain to leave a smile on their faces. The 16.5-metre tall Rubber Duck, the work of Dutch conceptual artist Florentijn Hofman, was going through some warm-ups before being fully inflated and moved to Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui on May 2. With a jungle of skyscrapers as a backdrop, Hofman decided to produce his second largest incarnation of the "sculpture" - the biggest was 26 metres tall. A Marine Department spokesman said they would vet the duck soon.
