Joining prolific mainland artist Yin Zhaoyang at the opening of his latest solo exhibition were distinguished guests including Cissy Pao Watari, Moses Tsang, Wallace Chan and Michael Wong. The show, which opened with cocktails, comprises large, mesmerising landscapes crafted in thick paint and blurred, florid colours. "Descend the Mountain - the Solo Exhibition of Yin Zhaoyang" was curated by Lily Leung and organised by the Engage Interactive Agency. It runs at the Pao Galleries in the Hong Kong Arts Centre until Wednesday.

Guests at the Lancome Absolue Prestigious Rosary Rendezvous broke into smiles when they were given the opportunity to make rose-flavoured desserts. The event celebrated the launch of Lancome's Absolue L'Extrait Regenerating Ultimate Eye Contour Ritual, which counts rose cells among its ingredients. The rosy puddings were created by chef Jo Koo, who spent days perfecting the recipe. The tea party, at the Causeway Bay showroom of upscale home-appliance maker Gaggenau, attracted a dozen celebrities and models, who donned aprons and wielded spatulas before making a mess in the kitchen. Among them were Bernice Liu, Kristy Yang, Rain Li, Kelly Fu, Sammie Yu, Janet Ma, Sunny Sun, Carlos Chan, Ana Rivera, Charlotte Chen, Lelia Chow and Deborah Hung.

Ocean Terminal's main concourse was turned into a fashion catwalk for Timberland's autumn collection. The brand with the trademark yellow hiking boot celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The iconic boot is reflected in the brand's latest footwear line and the apparel range takes its inspiration from New England. On hand to model the gear were Jessica Cambensy, Kelly Fu, Linah Matsuoka and some rugged male models. The footwear and apparel has been produced using renewable, organic and recycled materials, so the eco-conscious can hike Hong Kong's country parks with a clear conscience.
