Popular mainland teenage singer Doudou has had enough of stardom
Mainland singing sensation Doudou has had a taste of fame, but now the teen is turning her back on the spotlight

Many teenagers dream of living like their pop idols: releasing their own music, appearing with megastars at stadium shows or performing abroad.
For most, such fantasies remain dreams. But at the age of 14, Shenzhen-based Huang Jiaqi - better known as Doudou to her fans - has done it all.
People want to groom me into an international icon, but I don't want to perform
Like many other child singers on the mainland, Doudou was barely able to read the lyrics when she made her stage debut at a 2007 concert organised by Shenzhen Music Radio.
Within three years, she had become a veteran of shows and galas, often leading children's choirs, and had released an album, , to raise funds for a water project to help arid western provinces.
Doudou has performed with singer-actor Andy Lau Tak-wah and had a role in the 2009 production of Chinese opera with first lady Peng Liyuan.
Last year, Gerhard Heiberg - then head of the International Olympics Committee's marketing panel - invited her to hold a solo concert in London to memorialise the 2008 Beijing Olympics ahead of the 2012 Games.
