Wanted: Hongkonger who can live like a Briton for 10 days; 40+ woman preferred

Reality TV show about life swaps seeks people from various countries to switch places with British counterparts – staying in their home and spending time with their family and friends

Fancy an all-expenses-paid 10 days in Britain living the life of a local? If so, read on.

Hong Kong has been picked to take part in a new BBC reality TV show where participants switch lives with a person in Britain. The makers of Life Swap Adventure want to hear from Hongkongers who “are up for a potentially life-changing adventure”.

The series gives people from different places a chance to experience life in Britain. Countries invited to take part in the show include the tropical island nations of Vanuatu and the Cook Islands, both in the South Pacific.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or over. “Ideally we are looking for a woman from Hong Kong – aged between 40 to 60 – to swap places with a woman from the UK,” a BBC representative said.

And life swap is the name of the game. The successful candidates will be filmed living each other’s lives for 10 days – staying in each other’s homes, spending time with each other’s friends and family, experiencing each other’s work lives and exploring each other’s countries and cultures as a local rather than a tourist.

Applicants must speak good English, ideally have never been to Britain before (or have not visited for a long time), and have an engaging and inquisitive personality.

Filming is scheduled for early October and the travel series will be broadcast in Britain on BBC Two in 2017. The closing date for applications is September 30.
