Hugo Boss and Rockbund Museum host exhibition in Shanghai
Artists from Southeast Asia showcased in second show
Hugo Boss and the Rockbund Art Museum (RAM) have again joined forces to host an exhibition in Shanghai
The exhibition, which runs until January 3, showcases works from six nominated artists Guan Xiao (mainland), Huang Po-Chih (Taiwan), Moe Satt (Myanmar), Maria Taniguchi (Philippines), Vandy Rattana (Cambodia) and Yang Xinguang (mainland). Building on the success of the first show in 2013, this one continues to honour emerging contemporary artists.
“Following the success of its inaugural edition, the award has become an important element in our arts programme. We are also excited that it is returning with an extended focus, encompassing artists from Southeast Asia in addition to Greater China,” says Hjördis Kettenbach, head of cultural affairs at Hugo Boss.
The exhibition features artworks including painting, video art, sculpture, installation and performance. Larys Frogier, RAM director and chair of the Hugo Boss Asia Art jury, elaborates on the concept: “The exhibition presents completely new productions and truly inspiring art projects. As such, it highlights the rich possibilities for cultural exchange and dialogue across the regions in Asia.”
The winner will be announced on November 26.
