The Merchant of Venice
British actor Jonathan Pryce will lead the cast of The Merchant of Venice, an upcoming Globe Theatre production that will come to Hong Kong in September. The star of Wolf Hall and Game of Thrones will take on the role of Shylock, one of Shakespeare’s more complex characters, in this play about tolerance, justice and forgiveness. The Guardian says Pryce’s Shylock is “of weight, gravity and considerable complexity”

Hong Kong Sevens kick-off concert
The Hong Kong Seven returns this year with a pre-tournament concert on April 6, to be hosted by Knight Rider and Baywatch star David Hasselhoff. The line-up will include Scottish band The Proclaimers and Abba tribute band Björn Again. The concert will be a “warm-up act” to the Sevens weekend, which is the biggest event on the local sporting calendar. Tickets for the Hong Kong Sevens can be booked through viagogo.com
