My six favourite people, places and things, by SCAD Hong Kong’s David Pugh

The Savannah College of Art and Design vice-president tells us his favourite accessory, fashion designer, Hong Kong restaurant, London hotel, holiday destination and artist of the moment

My favourite designer is Tom Ford. I was fortunate enough to meet him a few years ago when SCAD honoured him with an award at its annual fashion show.

My favourite restaurant in Hong Kong is Figaro, a French wine bar in Sheung Wan. It’s great for a drink and if you go for dinner make sure you order the veal.

My favourite holiday destination is Provence in the south of France: Aix-en-Provence, Marseilles and Nice. I’m fortunate to spend a bit of time there when I work at SCAD’s European campus in Lacoste – who doesn’t like the serenity of lavender fields and the light that inspired Picasso and Cézanne.

When I’m in London I stay at The Dorchester overlooking Hyde Park in the heart of Mayfair. My favourite hotel is like walking through history ... I love thinking of US president Dwight Eisenhower setting up his headquarters there during the second world war.

My favourite piece of jewellery without a doubt is my Tag Heuer watch.

My favourite artist at the moment is Marcus Kenney, who works in Savannah, Georgia, and has exhibited his work internationally. His creative use of taxidermy and collaging is captivating.
