A quantum of cool for babies in the fast lane
The first thing that comes to mind at the mention of Aston Martin is Agent 007 James Bond. So it was a rather odd event that somehow managed to combine prams and the iconic British sports car.
Silver Cross may not produce sexy little sports cars that come with machine guns and rockets, but it has been making luxury prams for 135 years. And while James Bond has a "Licence to Kill", Silver Cross has a Royal Warrant, making it the British royal family's pram of choice.
The lovely Ying was asked who had to deal with her mood swings, to which she wittily replied: "Whoever got me pregnant is the one that has to put up with my mood swings!"
We reckon hubby actor Jordan Chan Siu-chun, who Ying said is happy to be having a baby boy, will be extremely proud to push his new son in a limited-edition Aston Martin-inspired Silver Cross pram. The prams are individually numbered and Nick Paxton, Silver Cross Group CEO, presented Ying with the 008 along with a teddy bear and a rag doll.
Asked if she had any advice for women planning to have children, Ying said: "Don't do it if you're not ready - it's not that much fun."
Friendly model feels she has a role to play
Keen Top founders, Nelson Lee Koon-leong and Bruce Law Sing-yui, are veterans in property investment, but the pair said they supported local movies and hoped to bring something new to the table.
As for Cambensy, she said she just wanted to learn more about making films. "I really want to do a movie that is inspiring. Of course, I want to do fun movies - comedies, romances - but I also want to do something that touches people's hearts."
There were some movie projects on the horizon, but she said she couldn't elaborate just yet.
Italy shows off a few of its favourite blings
It was a night of bling as 60 sets of Italian-crafted jewellery were shown off at the "Jewels of Italy Parade 2013", a gala event held at the 46th-floor Sky Lobby in Central Plaza, Wan Chai. The show was part of the recent International Jewellery Expo held recently at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Italian trade commissioner Paola Guida, who hosted the evening, said: "Our goal is simple: to bring top quality and great Italian jewellery designs to Hong Kong, China and the Asia-Pacific region."
Helping to show off this collection of fine artistic jewellery were models Ana Rivera and Cara Grogan. A special celebrity guest was TVB actress Sharon Chan Man-chi, who showed up in a long turquoise evening gown.
