It's been a whirlwind week for models, designers and stylists. Hong Kong Fashion Week kicked off on Monday with the Fashion Extravaganza evening.

This year the event featured more high-profile Asian industry insiders, along with talent from further afield. Apart from the regular trade show, there were workshops and seminars, trend forecasting from WGSN and runway shows from I.T.'s younger own brands, as well as local labels Ika Butoni and Moiselle. Fashion legend Vivienne Westwood is not in town, but her team presentedher latest collection last night, marking fashion week's finale.

International designers on the runway on Monday included Amaya Arzuaga from Spain, Calla Haynes from Paris, Hong Kong's Henry Lau and, headliner, the Paris- and Shanghai-based Masha Ma.

Ma, who has a coveted place on the Paris ready-to-wear schedule, showed a modern and sporty autumn-winter 2014 collection that had bold graphic lines and plenty of laser cuts, sheers and sculpted architectural shapes - one of her major signatures.

Celebrities including Coco Lee, Gigi Leung, Kathy Chow and veteran Hong Kong designers Barney Cheng and Dorian Ho made an appearance, adding a touch more glitz and glamour to the evening.
