Nine Tsim Sha Tsui restaurants worth a try for lunch or dinner

Korean, French, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Indian ... Tsim Sha Tsui has a big range of cuisines from which to choose.

Korean, French, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Indian ... Tsim Sha Tsui has a huge variety of restaurants from which to choose. Here are nine we've checked out in the past 12 months that you'll find are worth a visit. Click on headlines to read our reviews in full.

Ore-no Kappou by Ginza Okamoto - raw beats the cooked

Sashimi moriawase.
The raw dishes were the best part of the meal. The sashimi moriawase  was delicious and generous.

Saravanna Bhavan - Indian vegetarian cuisine

Kadai paneer.
We love Indian vegetarian food because it doesn't taste healthy, and many of the dishes here were successful.

Austin Lobby, Tsim Sha Tsui - stylish Cantonese

Siu mei platter with roast pork and goose, char siu and jelly fish.
We had delicious, moist and well-seasoned roast goose (both the leg and the leaner breast meat)

Lab Eat, Tsim Sha Tsui - Filipino feast

Bicol express.
I walked out of Lab Eat feeling almost blissfully happy, the way you do after a really satisfying meal where you've eaten far more than you should, but couldn't stop.

Épure, Tsim Sha Tsui - French

Roasted Challandais duck.
Our favourite main course was the roasted Challandais duck (HK$498), which had crackling-crisp skin and sweet, moist meat.

Elite Dining, Tsim Sha Tsui - Chinese

Wagyu beef tongue with asparagus.
Our luck improved with the main courses ... The stir-fried wagyu beef tongue with asparagus was excellent

Maru Korean Restaurant & Bar, Tsim Sha Tsui

Yuk hwe.
Yuk hwe  was a huge portion of hand-sliced raw beef with a dressing that was a bit heavy on the sesame oil and garlic.

Sungai Wang - great food overcomes patchy service

Stir-fried green beans with minced pork.
From the "tasty dishes" section came an addictive, spicy mix of stir-fried green beans with coriander, minced pork and sambal chilli sauce

Sangeetha Vegetarian Restaurant, Tsim Sha Tsui

Thali with pooris.
Sangeetha compares favourably to Woodlands, the other, more established Indian vegetarian restaurant, which is in the same building
