Restaurant review: Sixer Burger in Tsuen Wan – bring an appetite

Large portions of American-style food the order of the day, with beefburgers made from imported US beef and a serious side order of baked French fries with chilli beef

Decorated like a ship, Sixer Burger in Tsuen Wan is an American-styled hamburger shop that offers big portions at a cheap price. Sixer Burger was opened by a group of six friends who love eating American hamburgers.

The minced beef used in the burgers is flown in from the United States. Mixed with breadcrumbs, salt and pepper, the beef will especially appeal to those who like succulent, fatty beef.

We like the beefburger (HK$58) slathered with rich and tart Pommery sauce made from Pommery mustard, cream, thyme and pepper

We also enjoyed the deep-fried fish fillet burger (HK$58) with Thousand Island dressing, which featured a large piece of moist fish.

For those who like vegetarian choices, there’s the portobello mushroom and cheese burger (HK$58). The mushroom is meaty and juicy and goes well with the garlic sauce.

Eggs Benedict (HK$48) – two poached eggs with bacon and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin – is a good option for breakfast or brunch.

Baked french fries with cheese and chilli minced beef.
If the large portions of the main dishes aren’t enough, try the heavy, filling baked French fries topped with copious amounts of cheese and chilli minced beef (HK$38).

All the food is made to order in the open kitchen. During weekday lunchtimes it can take quite a long time for your meal to arrive due to the shortage of staff and long queue of takeaway customers.
