As we usher in a new year of K-dramas, a range of projects are already in the works, including potentially the next series for the lead actress of last year’s biggest global Korean drama sensation.
Here’s our latest round-up of Korean drama casting news.
1. The Diva of Deserted Island

Park has been approached to play Mok-ha, a girl who once dreamed of being a singer but was swept into the sea and drifted onto a deserted island.
Fifteen years later she is finally discovered and must work to reintegrate into a society she has become estranged from.
The series will see director Oh Choong-hwan and writer Park Hye-run team up again, having previously collaborated on While You Were Sleeping and Start-Up.
Park’s other notable drama roles include Do You Like Brahms? and Hot Stove League. Should she sign on, The Diva of Deserted Island would likely be filmed before the rumoured second season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
