I know a place: singer Joyce Lee's favourite eateries

Hong Kong is really an amazing place for a person who loves to eat, like me. For a special night out, my go-to place is Caprice.

Hong Kong is really an amazing place for a person who loves to eat, like me. For a special night out, my go-to place is (6/F Four Seasons hotel, 8 Finance Street, tel: 3196 8888). It has a spectacular view, amazing food and top-notch service. It also holds sentimental value for me and my husband, Ted.

We had our first dinner together there. We go every year for our anniversary to relive that special moment six years ago. The wine and cheese remain some of the best in town. With the bar area recently renovated, it just gives us more excuses to go.

As a true carnivore, one of my favourites is prime rib at (shop 201, 2/F Hutchison House, 10 Harcourt Road, Admiralty, tel: 2907 2218).

The "spinning salad" is prepared by a waitress from the US Midwest in a 1930s uniform and for the main course the chef pushes out a silver cart carrying an entire roast and carves your order. Ted promised to take me there every time I wrote a new hit song.

As a mother of two active boys, I really enjoy going to (68 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 3160 8998). They have great noodles, rice and dumplings and it is all very tasty.

The kids can be a bit noisy and messy and the restaurant knows how to take care of families. Our favourites are the mini dumplings and the sweet rice desert. I feel very relaxed there and the kids love the food.

When I'm in the mood for something different, I like going to (4 Staunton Street, SoHo, tel: 2522 2128). They serve creamy hummus, babaganoush and my favourite duck tagine. The lighting is dim from colourful Moroccan lamps with Arabic music humming in the background. It definitely sets the mood and reminds us of our visits to the Middle East.

One of my guilty pleasures is going to (110-114 Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang, tel: 2806 8168). Bonnae Gokson's creations are little pieces of heaven. My favourite cake is called Better than Sex. There is a great selection of desserts, pot pies, teas and even mini bottles of champagne.

For a casual bite in our neighbourhood, I love going to a cosy little Japanese place called (1 Village Road, Happy Valley, tel: 2838 3848). It reminds me of a local restaurant in Tokyo with its attentive service, well prepared food and casual nature. The sushi is always good and the lunch sets are great value.

No Hong Kong review is complete without Cantonese. A favourite is the (Lower Lobby, Conrad Hotel, 88 Queensway, Admiralty, tel: 2521 3838). They always take such good care of me. I adore their whelk and soup of the day.
