Get a spray tan at Benefit Boutique in Stanley Plaza
Need to cheat your way to that golden-brown look? Spray tan does the job
The Benefit Boutique in Stanley Plaza offers the brand's new spray-tanning service. Having never experienced a spray tan before I was full of concerns, namely what adverse effects the tanning product could have on my skin and whether or not it would look natural. The last thing I wanted was to be orange.
When I arrive for my appointment, my beauty adviser Esther briefs me on how to care for my tan post-treatment and escorts me into the "bronzing room". I undress as Esther sets up the equipment, and asks what colour I want. I explain I'm a first-timer and nervous about being too dark. I intended to try the light glow option designed for beginners, but Esther convinces me that going for the next shade darker will look much better because of my already tanned skin.
After preparing the airbrush, I'm given a series of different poses to do to ensure complete coverage and the tanning begins. Esther assuages my worries about my body absorbing strange chemicals from the tanning solution by informing me that the liquid is entirely organic. The smooth passes with the airbrush evenly coat me from head to toe and less than 30 minutes later I'm slightly sticky, but sporting a glowing tan.
The most difficult part of the process is not the tanning itself, but trying to avoid contact with moisture after the treatment, especially given the heat and humidity. By the end of the day, however, the stickiness subsides and even after showering my new glow is still intact.
A couple of days later, the colour is completely absorbed and, although it is noticeably lighter than my initial post-treatment look, my skin still appears golden brown.
