French fashion always used to be about high-end luxury brands, but in the past two years we have seen more contemporary high street brands landing on local shores. Parisian label Sandro has become a fast favourite here, thanks to its easy, fashion-forward styles and offbeat details.

On June 12, the brand opened its second boutique in the city. It will exclusively stock Sandro's men's collection, which will be launched for the first time in Asia. At 1,700 sq ft, the store will be Asia's flagship, easily outsizing the IFC branch and boasting a more grown-up design featuring steel, marble and blond wood.

Launched in 2008, the menswear line is designed by founder Evelyne Chetrite's son, Ilan, and is all about men's classics injected with a chic edge.

For this season, expect minimalist styles in a cool palette of colours and unusual fabrics, such as parachute material. There are plenty of summer staples, including striped tunics, Bermuda shorts and T-shirts printed with Hugh Holland's iconic photographs of 1970s Californian skateboard culture.
