The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra opens its 40th season with an explosive show featuring guest pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Under maestro Jaap van Zweden, the orchestra plays Beethoven's Emperor Concerto, Dvorák's Symphony No. 9 and, for a Chinese flavour, Bright Sheng's popular Shanghai Overture.
