Table talk: Nobu Matsuhisa at Nobu, crab at Café Siam and Café Rivoli

Alfio Ghezzi of the Michelin-star Locanda Margon at the Ferrari Winery in Trento, Italy, will be guest chef at the Lobster Bar and Grill at the Island Shangri-La in Admiralty from October 8-13. Dishes are available à la carte and, on October 10, there will be a four-course Ferrari wine dinner (HK$788 plus 10 per cent). Ghezzi's dishes include sirloin steak with vegetable gremolata, crisp potatoes and Sagrantino sauce (pictured); Sicilian red prawns with Locanda Margon ham reduction and lettuce; and Ferrari demi-sec apple strudel and vanilla ice cream. Nobu Matsuhisa will be at Nobu restaurant at the InterContinental in Tsim Sha Tsui for the Taittinger champagne dinners on October 14 and 15. The eight-course dinners include lamb chop with rosemary miso paired with Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2004; and A5 Kobe wagyu striploin with truffle teriyaki and roasted lobster with shiso salsa served with Comtes de Champagne Rosé 2005. Several restaurants are featuring crab dishes until November. At Café Siam in Central, they're serving whole mud crab in mild curry sauce; whole female crab fried with chilli paste and sweet basil (pictured); and deep-fried whole mud crab with fresh peppercorns, garlic and chilli. At the Regal Hongkong Hotel in Causeway Bay and the Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, the crab dishes are available on the dinner buffet at Café Rivoli and Café Allegro, respectively. Café Rivoli's dishes include Japanese red king crab salad; Thai curry Canadian crab; and fresh blue crab. The buffet is HK$438 plus 10 per cent (HK$298 for children) Monday-Thursday and HK$468 plus 10 per cent (HK$318 for children) Friday-Sunday and the eve and day of public holidays. Bookings: 2837 1772. The buffet selection at Café Allegro features sautéed crab with light curry coconut sauce; pumpkin congee with crab; and deep-fried crab cakes (pictured).
