Made-to-order shoe company Upper Street, will be at Polkadot Boutique in SoHo this month with a special collaboration line by British stylist Nicole Smallwood.

Smallwood, a former editor at Marie Claire UK and whose clients include Elle Macpherson and Liv Tyler, says she found it hard to find affordable shoes to fit her size 40 feet. So she’s teamed up with Upper Street to create an 11-piece collection of shoes offering fashionable options in a range of sizes.

In August, Upper Street surveyed Hong Kong-based women with feet size 40 or larger and found 87 per cent were unhappy with shoe choices - more than half said it was almost impossible find their size.

Besides Smallwood's designs, Upper Street has invited three Hong Kong bloggers to add their own touches to the Ridgway heel.

Photographer and model Sabrina Sikora's choice was a strong pop of colour in emerald green metallic leather, while Jasmine Smith, of created a red snake skin with a shocking pink lining. City-rag's Emily Wordsworth chose a glossy black calf hair pony with purple leopard pony heel, on trend with this season's love of different textures.

Prices start from HK$1,700, and you can also create your own designs from scratch. "Every shoe is lovingly handcrafted in our own workshop from the finest leathers and materials to ensure that the shoe has perfectly balanced proportions, comfort, quality and fit," says Katy Chandler, co-founder of Upper Street.

Well known faces such as Helena Bonham Carter, Tess Daly and Erin O'Connor have all been spotted wearing Upper Street custom heels. Cherie Blair, wife of former UK prime minister Tony Blair, is also a regular customer.
