Style confessions: florist Gemma Blest

Most days you can find her sifting through the flower market in Mong Kok. Her roots are in England, where her love of botanicals first grew, and where she earned a degree in fashion. Now she combines these interests into styling sets for editorials and events

Jacket
A vintage leather jacket I found in a Berlin car-boot sale

Dress
I came across this fabric in a market and knew it needed to become a dress. Cheap, amazing tailors are one of the beauties of living in Hong Kong

Pathos Vine
One of my favourite indoor plants. They trail across shelves and hang down window ledges without the need for attention

Armchair
I found it on the street and I've used it on shoots — it's had the ocean crashing at its feet, and it's been covered in flowers for an editorial

Cages
I wish I had a bird, but I don't have the heart to cage one, so they are just props for shoots

At work ...

... and for play
