Ambience: the large terrace is the draw, although we sat inside because it was a hot day. Unfortunately, it wasn't much cooler inside because the terrace door was open, making the air conditioning ineffective. The heat and fumes from the open kitchen didn't help.
Recommended dishes: the General FLS Tso's chicken (HK$168) was the hands-down favourite. The chunks of fried chicken were moist; the light, sweet flavour balanced by dried chillies and peppers. Battered fish in corn and egg sauce was good, too: the crisp fish wasn't oily, and the creamy sauce neither too heavy (from cornstarch), nor too sweet.
Pros: the server, an Australian Chinese by the sound of his accent, was friendly.

Cons: two of us in our group are overseas Chinese, so we don't mind other "versions" of Chinese food, but much of what we ate here didn't hit the spot. Crispy honey chilli beef "rusty nails" (HK$158) had strips of fried beef and carrot, but they were so sweet they tasted the same; we could tell them apart only by the colour. Wok-fried broccoli with ginger and garlic (HK$98) was overcooked. The sesame prawn toast (HK$88 for four pieces) was underseasoned — all we could taste was sesame seeds and oil. The cocktails are expensive.
What else? Fu Lu Shou is in the same space that once housed TBLS. You need to call the restaurant for the door code (which changes weekly) to get into the building.
