Get Reel | Food review: Café Hunan, Wan Chai - busy, but a tempting menu
the steamed fish-head with diced hot red and yellow peppers (HK$158) had a light but flavourful sauce, and lots of soft, succulent chunks of meat hidden among the bones. Sizzling beef with cumin flavour (HK$108) was also very good, with tender meat and well-balanced spices. Ttir-fried shredded potatoes with hot and sour sauce (HK$68) featured crunchy potatoes in a refreshing tart and spicy sauce.

Café Hunan
1/F Wayson Commercial House, 68-70 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai
Tel: 2528 3699
Open: noon-3pm, 5.30pm-10pm

Cuisine: Hunanese
Price: about HK$220 without drinks or the service charge.
Ambience: the small, brightly lit interior can be elbow-to-elbow crowded; three people were seated at the table for two next to ours. Luckily, it seems to clear out early. Servers are harried, but still efficient.
