Fashion designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos ring the changes
Christopher de Vos and Peter Pilotto add heavy embellishment and unusual techniques to give their latest collection a bold new look

Over the past few years London has re-emerged as one of the most creative style capitals in the world thanks to a group of talented designers that are testing the boundaries of fashion.
But before the likes of Simone Rocha and J.W. Anderson appeared on the scene, it was digital printers Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto who paved the way for the next generation to come to the fore.
The duo launched the Peter Pilotto label in 2007 and in the past few years it has become one of Britain's most successful brands. Their pioneering designs, which combine complicated prints and textiles on draped silhouettes, are a favourite with editors and style icons including Jennifer Lopez and Sienna Miller. They have also garnered numerous industry accolades including the Swarovski Emerging Talent award, the Fashion Forward prize and most recently, this year's BFC/Vogue fashion fund.
"We are part of this movement in fashion that is giving opportunities to new generations and we are very proud of that," says De Vos, during a recent visit to Hong Kong for the launch of their spring-summer 2015 collection at Joyce. "The industry is experiencing a surge in creativity that we haven't seen since the 1980s and London is defining that. The city supports young talent and it has the right mix of amazing stores, designers and artists."
Although the brand's identity is deeply rooted in London, the designers themselves have an international background. Pilotto is half Austrian, half Italian, while half-Belgian, half-Peruvian De Vos grew up moving around the Middle East and South America. They met in 2000 while they were both students at Antwerp's Academy of Fine Arts, which has famous alumni such as Dries Van Noten and Martin Margiela.
