The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA has launched a head-to-toe pre-party skin primer using its new Optimal Body TriSerum, which contains omega-3, -6 and -9 oils as well as plant and marine extracts to firm, brighten, and nourish the skin.
Before the treatment starts I'm invited to take in the sweeping harbour (or smog, in this case) views from the relaxation room, which being on the 116th floor forms part of the highest hotel spa in the world. A therapist leads me to the treatment room, where she performs a sensory test which involves choosing two types of oils based on their scent.

She removes my make-up and pulls out a Woods lamp for an in-depth skin consultation. She talks me through what my skin says about me (apparently not enough sleep, a lot of laughter, and too much time in the sun) before conceding that it's not too bad.
She uses a polish for my T-zone, follows up with a firming mask, and while this is still on, gives me a decent neck massage. Then begins a layering of herbal scented Espa products, I lose count of how many, but I could swear she washed my eye area three times. In between the layers she uses hot towels, refreshing mist sprays, facial massage and tapping with her fingertips to improve skin tone.
By the end of it, my skin feels smoother, deeply hydrated, but not sticky. This is a good, albeit luxurious option if you're planning to bare some skin in party dresses, and all the massaging in between means it's not purely results driven. Get there early to enjoy their facilities, or at least shower first so you can leave the products on afterwards.
