If only I had one area in which to spend the weekend, it would be Tai Hang. Often overlooked even by Hong Kong Islanders, it's packed with bars and restaurants while blessedly free of the traffic and noise of SoHo and Kennedy Town. Feast on authentic Japanese food cooked at your table at Fisherman's Cuisine (8 King Street), washed down with one of a huge selection of whiskies at Malty's (166 Tung Lo Wan Road). Or hit Fire Dragon Path and watch the dog walkers and their charges do their thing.
