Cuisine: kushiage/kushikatsu (fried skewers)
Price: about HK$330 without drinks or the service charge.
Ambience: it's a small, place, with only about 10 seats along the long counter where the food is prepared, and two tables that seat three each. It's a relaxing way to eat.
Recommended dishes: chicken wings (HK$50 each), which had a thin coating and were drenched in soy sauce, were crisp and moist, although awkward to eat neatly. Thinly sliced pork rolled around umeboshi (preserved green apricot) and shiso leaf (HK$30/skewer) were delicious, as was the tomato with bacon (HK$30/skewer), although you couldn't eat this one straight from the fryer because the tomato was so hot. The ika with ikura (HK$30) was the most interesting dish we tasted: the squid was tender, the salmon eggs were crisp, plump balls, and the whole concoction was topped with an oniony tartar sauce.

Pros: our waiter was helpful. The chef was considerate and cooked according to our eating pace — she'd look at our plates to see if we were about to finish a dish before frying the next one. Either she or the waiter would give recommendations on flavouring each item with salt, vinegar, or red wine dipping sauce.
Cons: Japanese tomato salad (HK$30) didn't have much flavour and the pork tenderloin (HK$35/skewer) was dry.
What else? There's no English translation for the menu. The restaurant used to be known as Hidden Kitchen.
