The holidays are a time for renewal. For those who love fragrances, they are also an opportunity to try out a new scent or two.

Diptyque's newest, Volutes, is for the adventurous. It was inspired by the journeys Yves Coueslant, one of brand's three founders, made on the luxury liners that travelled from Marseilles to Saigon.

Diptyque worked with perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin to blend an intense tobacco with a note of Amsterdamer blend, complete with accents of dried fruit, honey and wax.

Honouring the iris pallida, the floral symbol of the city of Florence, Iris Nobile Sublime from Acqua di Parma features the freshness of mandarin and neroli with powdery ylang-ylang and a woody, musky base.

Dedicated to Team Luna Rossa, which won the international Extreme Sailing Series last year, Prada Luna Rossa is blended by Daniela Andrier.

The men's fragrance features lavender absolute and bitter orange as the top notes, clary sage and spearmint nanah as the middle notes, and ambroxan and ambrette absolute as the base notes. Designed by Yves Béhar, the bottle is inspired by extreme sailing boats.
