Viewing pleasure: Watermark in Central

Esther Ng

Western

Located at Central's Star Ferry Pier 7, the glass-enclosed restaurant has contemporary décor and boasts unobscured panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and waterfront dining.

Guests from out of town or a date.

HK$1,800 including a cocktail and a glass of wine.

The view of beautiful Victoria Harbour is one of the top reasons to visit. Serving variations of surf-and-turf, we tried the Seafood Platter for 2 which served crab, scallops, smoked salmon and freshly shucked oysters. We shared the mains too, the deliciously grilled Cedar River farm rib-eye steak with layered potato, asparagus, roasted tomato with a choice of red wine, blue cheese and green peppercorn sauce and the poached French sea bass with sea urchin and baby artichoke, sea fennel and saffron potatoes. We finished with the chocolate textured dessert and charcoal pineapple with banana, passion fruit, salted caramel and coconut ice cream.

The sea bass was drowned in yellow mash and the charcoaled pineapple was a black mess.

Perfect for summer are the berry themed Freme Sangria made with Chambord, vanilla liqueur, fresh raspberries, blackberries and red wine or the Go Berry Go mocktail with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, lime juice, strawberry syrup and soda.
