TURN-ONS

Stone Nullah Tavern is a popular happy hour haunt in Wan Chai. The restaurant is tucked away inside the premises and offers a quieter retreat from the noisy bar area. The menu boasts a good selection of American comfort food with a contemporary twist. To start off the evening, we were offered some bread with butter heating over a candle for easier spreading and dipping. We tried the fried calamari, which was tasty and came in a generous portion. Guests often rave about Stone Nullah’s wood-grilled pizzas. The barbecue chicken pizza with a hint of spiciness is a favourite. We loved the butter-basted organic filet mignon with classic home-made fries on the side. We also enjoyed the maple glazed ribs with gorgonzola slaw and dill pickle. The tender meat just glided off the bones and if you have a big appetite or would like to share with others, you can order the full portion.

TURN-OFFS

The sauce on the ribs was too sweet. We also ordered the roasted garlic mashed potatoes, which were nice in consistency and texture, but the garlic overpowered the taste of the potatoes. The
spicy chicken poppers would do well with more meat as a base.

DRINKS

The restaurant and bar offers the usual selection of cocktails but a great variety of American whiskeys.
