On June 21, 2016, at least 10,000 dogs will be slaughtered and eaten during this festival in the city of Yulin, which lies just 400km from Hong Kong.

Some dogs are beaten and bled to death before being gutted and sold to eat.

We Hongkongers condemn this practice and urge the Hong Kong government to do the same. We also urge the government to communicate to its mainland Chinese counterparts that the Yulin Dog Meat Festival is shameful for the entire country.

Dogs are our companions, not our meals. End the Yulin Dog Meat Festival now.

Get involved. Send us a 10-second clip of you and your dog, saying “Stop The Slaughter!” to letters@hkmagmedia.com. We’ll post it to this page.
