Fauchon Paris Le Café, newly opened in Sha Tin

Hot Date Ideas for a Hot Hong Kong Summer

Where to go for your couples’ night out.

Escape to Paris
You may not be able to book a romantic getaway to Paris for a weekend, but you can spend an afternoon cozing up in a café that comes pretty close to the real thing at the newly opened Fauchon Paris Le Café in Sha Tin. An established lifestyle and food brand in Paris, the new café is the first outpost in Hong Kong that serves up both sweet and savory items, with classic bistro items such as seared salmon steak and French onion soup. For a post-meal delight, dig into the flaky millefeuille or éclair with Ashanti chocolate cream and a seductive dark chocolate glaze. There’s also an afternoon tea set available daily from 2:30-5:30pm ($160 for two). Shop 408 & 410, 4/F, New Town Plaza Phase 1, Sha Tin, New Territories, 2237-1515

Picnic in the Park
With the warm weather finally here it’s the perfect time to pack up the picnic basket with some wine and cheese, and head somewhere romantic with your S.O. for a day under the sun. We’re loving the affordable Hanwood Estate Collection by McWilliam’s winemakers, which features wine and food pairings for the ultimate summer picnic. Grab a bottle of the citrusy Riesling, which pairs well with soft cheeses and sushi; or opt for the Cabernet Sauvignon, with dense plum and blackberry notes to complement intense flavors like aged cheeses. With each bottle priced at $99, you’ll want to grab two or three for a long afternoon. Park 'n' Shop stores across Hong Kong, parknshop.com; mcwilliamswines.com.hk
