Behind the label: Jane Carr

British designer Jane Carr's résumé is an impressive read. A graduate of London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, she won the prestigious International Wool Secretariat prize (the competition that helped launch the careers of Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld) before ascending through the ranks of Balenciaga and Versace. After four years as head of printed textiles at Versace, she set up her namesake label in 2005.

Carr's aesthetic is imbued with a joie de vivre. Her scarves embody the trinity every good shopper holds dear: originality, comfort and versatility. With great prints and super-soft fabrics, they are perfect to keep at hand as you move between Hong Kong's humid heat to chilly air conditioning.
