Still standing With mass-market lines such as Play, uber-hip Japanese label Comme des Garçons may no longer be seen as a radical outsider, but that doesn’t mean the house that Rei Kawakubo built has lost its ability to delight. Take a look, for instance, at the classic black leather shoes (far left; HK$5,800) and the striking red suede shoes (left; HK$5,300). Comme des Garçons is at 10 Ice House Street, Central, tel: 2869 5906.

Glove me tender The key to braving the winds, as any experienced outdoorsman will tell you, is to accessorise correctly, which means a proper hat and gloves, of course. Cerruti 1881 can lend a hand when it comes to gloves this autumn, with a lovely black leather pair (far left; HK$2,190) that will keep you warm and looking stylish. We’re also big fans of the brown suede gloves (left; HK$1,990), with stitch detailing and elasticated wrists. Cerruti 1881 is in Pacific Place, tel: 2918 9149.

Splash the cash When it comes to wallets, men usually go for the boring default option of black leather. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, but sometimes it wouldn’t hurt to inject a bit of colour and fun into your accessories. Australian label Dosh is all about colour, as seen in its latest collection of wallets, which includes the Aero (right; HK$660) and the Luxe (left; also HK$660). With durable, waterproof polymer cases, the wallets come in a variety of eye-catching colour combinations. Dosh is available at Bauhaus, 2 Yiu Wa Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 2891 6811.

Best of British With the Olympics still fresh in our minds, there’s never been a better time to dress like an English gent. And there are few brands that do the whole English thing better than Thomas Pink. We love the navy Tiller suit (HK$14,100), which goes well with the Brooke striped slim-fit shirt (HK$1,700), Montague spot woven silk tie (HK$1,200) and paisley pocket square (all left; HK$700). If black is your thing, there’s the Kenwood slim-fit suit (HK$11,500), which looks great with a Marinot check slim-fit shirt (HK$2,000), grid woven tie in pink (HK$1,200) and Windsor check pocket square (all far left; HK$700).  Thomas Pink is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2155 9021.
