To great lengths With the weather about to cool down a touch, it’s almost bearable to wear long trousers again. These Paul & Shark red jeans (left; HK$1,990) are likely to get you noticed in any crowd. Something more subdued and in keeping with the sailing heritage of the brand are the brown trousers (far left; HK$2,790). Paul & Shark is in Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, Tsim                                                                                    Sha Tsui, tel: 2110 4362.

Top gear The driving shoe is as ubiquitous as the iPhone these days and it’s quite galling to think there are non-Italian shoemakers doing a brisk trade in this iconic style of footwear. Still, the Italians do it best and none more so than Car Shoe. We love the blue leather version (top; HK$3,400) as well   as the brown leather shoe with the fold-down tongue (bottom; HK$3,700). Car Shoe is in Elements, 1 Austin
Road West, Kowloon, tel: 2196 8163.

Jacket required Every man needs a few key pieces in his wardrobe. As well as a suit, a raincoat is a must and let’s not forget a lounge jacket. This autumn you will do yourself a lot of favours with a Brioni navy long coat (far left; HK$54,995). And you’ll always stand out in this beautifully made Brioni jacket (left; HK$42,995). Brioni is available at The Swank, The Landmark, Central, tel: 2810 0769.
