Best dressed All eyes were on founder Jil Sander returning to her eponymous label at the recent Milan Fashion Week. But all are agreed that Raf Simons did a rather spectacular job during his years at the helm. The three-tone knit dress (left; HK$39,000), which combines chunky knit, sheers, underwear references and pleating - no mean feat - shows Simons' superior construction skills. We also like the easy-to-wear, three-tone sleeveless dress in red, pink and cream (far left; HK$31,000). Jil Sander is available at Joyce, 16 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2810 1120.

Sole mates Phoebe Philo's commitment to promoting form and function has given us some defining Céline looks in past seasons. We love the minimal chic of the two-tone, white on burgundy shoe (right; HK$7,500 a pair). For a more glamorous version, look to the gold (left; also HK$7,500). Céline is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 2525 1281.

Gem of a bag Marina Rinaldi is a brand associated with a more mature clientele. However, the glamorous gem-encrusted satin clutches in purple and emerald green (HK$3,280 each) are great evening bags for all. Marina Rinaldi is at Gateway Arcade, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2926 3002.

Loose change Easy breezy fits are de rigueur at Marc by Marc Jacobs for autumn-winter. The metallic blue dress (centre; HK$5,990) and the purple and orange print dress (right; HK$5,390), with lowered waistlines, make for cool party outfits. We also like the snug look of the A-line colour block coat with fur collar (left; HK$6,990). Marc by Marc Jacobs is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 0208.
