A bigger boat It's curious and instructive to look into the background of certain menswear labels. Take Paul & Shark, for example: first off, it's Italian (yeah, flummoxed me, too), second its origins are as a yachting lifestyle brand. But things at Paul & Shark have changed and now look as good on land as they do at sea. We love this look of knit jacket (HK$7,390), preppy blue shirt (HK$1,990) and black trousers (all far left; HK$3,390) - although, sadly the brand doesn't, as yet, do bow-ties. For a snug winter look, there's the snowflake-pattern knitted top (HK$5,390), black trousers (HK$3,590) and black scarf (all left; HK$1,190). Paul & Shark is in Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2110 4362.

Reality check Given his preference for warm, autumnal colours, Brunello Cucinelli's accessories are perfect for the colder days ahead. We are big fans of the cashmere checked scarfs (right; HK$4,995), which come in a variety of colours. Brunello Cucinelli is available at The Swank, The Landmark, Central, tel: 2810 0769.
