Modern turn Max & Co is doing modern elegance pretty well these days: just take a look at its autumn-winter accessories range. Check out the lovely mustard-coloured, strappy heeled sandal (below left; HK$2,480), for example, or, for a more urban boyish look, the three-buckle grey shoe (below right; HK$2,680) is definitely worth a try. We also love the delightfully simple black leather envelope clutch (left; HK$2,980). Max & Co is in IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2722 9616.

Ring my bell Door-knocker jewellery has been made popular in recent years by the likes of Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse and M.I.A, and gold is definitely the way to go. Ela Stone takes the whole thing literally with these lion earrings (HK$1,950) and big chunky chain necklace (HK$3,500). Ela Stone is available from On Pedder, 16 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2118 3489.

Think pink Super comfortable Rupert Sanderson shoes are also extremely high on style. We love the Floria fuchsia-suede, laser-cut-out heels (far right; HK$6,580) for an indulgent cocktail outfit. The little lilac kitten-heel sandal (right; HK$5,680) is also rather cute. Rupert Sanderson is at 8 On Lan Street, Central, tel: 2530 3391.

Steal a march Romantic embroidery, leather and decorative motifs evoke the Russian empire in Salvatore Ferragamo's autumn-winter collection. For something more glamorous and feminine look to the stunning black sheer knee-length dress (above right; HK$43,900), with gold lace and a Russian collar, or the more colourful Imperial purple blouse (HK$26,500), worn over a lace vest (HK$6,800), gold brocade skirt (HK$9,800) and knot belt (all above centre; HK$7,950). Salvatore Ferragamo is in Times Square, Causeway Bay, tel: 2110 0668.
