Great lengths The art deco look has been a big hit with jewellery makers lately. Arte, Spanish jewellers who have been in Hong Kong for some time, have unveiled a bold collection called Gran Muralla, inspired by the Great Wall of China. The necklace (HK$38,000) is impressive and red-carpet-worthy while the hairpin (HK$7,800) is a glamorous finishing touch. Arte is at Lee Gardens Two, Causeway Bay, tel: 2576 8782.

To boldly go Sensible shoes are for the rest of the year. The endless rounds of cocktail parties this month means it's time to dust off those stripper heels. Well, not quite - but a bold, bright, festive heel with elevation is a must, and if you haven't found the perfect pair, try Christian Dior. We love the fire engine-red platform sandal (far right; HK$9,500) and the pump in shocking carmine satin (right; HK$5,400). Christian Dior is at 1 Peking Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2302 6600.

Soft power Supple leather is the speciality of Spanish label Loewe. Indulge yourself with the green Amazona handbag (right; HK$17,900) or the pastel blue small tasseled shoulder bag (left; HK$12,900). Loewe is in Times Square, Causeway Bay, tel: 2777 8988.

All hail Striking a balance between masculine chic and feminine style has eluded many a designer over the years. Peter Dundas at Emilio Pucci has succeeded this season with a gorgeously grown up collection. Take a look at model Joan Smalls (above centre) in this monochrome outfit: sleek, manly, white tuxedo jacket (HK$18,360), with black lapels, paired with a low plunging black jumpsuit dress (HK$40,870). The printed pyjamas (above left; HK$17,650 for the set, coat not included) work well, too. Finally, there's the daring sky-blue dress with sheer top and a well placed twist of fabric (above left; HK$29,010) - just in time for the party season. Emilio Pucci is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 4698.
